copy inhibit - interesing...

just had a very strange incident - totally repeatable...

printing 30min doco to video from timeline (6c > dsr11), and the tape stops rolling at 15:20:18 with COPY INHIBIT. try recording 10sec before to 10sec after - same thing, same tc.

check source tape - there's a 50 X 25 pixel glitch in the bottom right corner on two frames at that tc.

capture again.

exactly the same thing.

render to new track - all ok.

so, is there a way to activate COPY INHIBIT flags on my master? is sony keeping something from us?

curious

Usually this is because of noise in the signal that is seen as copy prohibit information. You might want to take the section that appears to be causing the flag to pop up and pre-render it, render to new track, or slightly zoom in to avoid the noise. See if that clears/fixes it.

did render to new track (might not be clear in my post :-{) and everything's ok.

i was just wondering, other than sticking in the offending two frames, is there any way of actually turning on the copy inhibit flag?

what DSE said (Isolating/cutting the area or zooming) is prolly the best methos as opposed to rendering out the whole piece as u really dotn want to overprocess your footage..
