Copy protection only works if you have your DVD replicated. Duplication (which is what you were doing) doesn't support copy protection.

Frankly, copy protection only keeps the honest people honest these days. Not sure why people bother with it at all.

Just to add to what Scott says, this is not a deficiency in DVD Architect; there is no way to copy protect DVDs that you burn yourself. The "copy protect" feature in DVDA is for when you make a master DVD or tape, and then take it to a replicator. During the replication process, they insert the copy protect "Decss" and Macrovision code (for you which you then pay a license fee).
