In the capture utility, you can (obviously) capture a tape. Once captured, you can go to the print section of the capture utility and print it back to tape without the file EVER being used in Vegas.

If you can borrow a second camcorder you could copy directly from one machine to the other.

As suggested, tried to do a print to tape in the capture utility immediately after capturing the video. This doesn't appear to be possible. When adding a file to print, it looks like it will only accept a rendered file type. Any suggestions for copying a tape without going through the editing and rendering process? Thanks.

The capture Print section WILL accept files just captured by itself. It is the same as a file rendered from Vegas DV-AVI.

I'll have to try it again another time. Maybe it was pilot error, but it wouldn't allow me to add the file I just captured.

You were right, and it was my pilot error. Works just like you said. Thanks.
