Copy to new project

Help for newby please. I've inadvertantly produced a project too big for the media I'm using - I'll have to create a two-disc project. I've separated about 10% of the project which I want to move to a new project which I will render and burn to a second DVD. How do I copy/cut the separated segment of the first project and move to a new project? Does this make sense? Tks for any help.

Only 10% too big? Are you sure you can't fit it by using a 10% lower bitrate for the MPEG file? I wouldn't think the quality would be that much worse.

If you do need to create split output files, you could simply highlight the first section and render loop region only, then select the rest and render that loop region only. No need to edit or split the project at all.
