You can copy all the events on a track or tracks from one project to another. Usually track header information, such as effects chains, volume/pan settings, and compositing modes won't copy, only the material in the track transfers. I've heard that there are a lot of problems copying evelopes too.

Make sure you have both projects open at the same time as Vegas dumps the clipboard buffer when you close a project.
