copying a dvd

Please help! I am very new to this software. I simply want to copy a DVD, creating a new DVD without any editing or anything. I have pulled the video files off the first DVD and put them on the timeline. I am now rendering them, but the rendering process is taking well over 3 hours. The footage is only 1 hour 20 minutes long. I am viewing the rendering process and it is in "slow motion." I am assuming once the rendering process is complete, I can burn my new DVD (is this assumption even correct?). Is there a more efficient way to simply copy one DVD to another if I don't want to do any editing? P.S. I also have the DVD Architect Studio software, but don't know if what I am trying to accomplish would be any more efficient utilizing that software. Thanks!

If you do not want to make any changes and want a straight copy- use Nero and do a DVD Disc to Disc Copy. That will give you what you want.

As for the "slow motion" rendering. It has to go through and re-encode the entire timeline frame by frame b/c that is what you are telling it to do. Also, render times vary depending on the speed of your processor and multiple other variables.

Thank you jrazz. I thought my Nero software would only copy a data DVD and not a "movie" DVD. After your advice I looked at it more closely and it was able to copy my DVD very easily and quickly. And thanks for the info about the rendering. You gave me much better advice and information than I was getting from Tech Support, which was basically useless. Thanks a lot!
