Tom, first of all I'd like to say hi and welcome, and thank you for all the help you've provided me and so many others for so long. So I hope I can start to repay the favor with this:

For getting stills from the timeline, right-click on the preview screen and check "Display at Project Size", assuming your project size is standard DV AVI, before you capture stills, then click the little floppy icon all the way to the right, just above the preview screen to save the still to file. Your format choices from the drop-down menu are .jpg and .png.

Believe it or not, I find that VW or even Pinnacle Studio7 give you better, clearer resolution stills than VF/VV, perhaps because the former two are 720x480, while VF/VV are 654x480, and pixelization is more noticable. Unless I'm missing something...

Ahhh yes, I do recognize the name, welcome to the gang. You were quite the optimist "on the other side", Unlike many cynical negative people like some of us ;) By the way Tom, I agree with your philosophy on more than one edit tool. I use a blend of VF, ULEAD, flash, and Photoshop for my variations of work. I even still use the dell / dazzle capture card (threw out the analog box though and bought canopus) the_ripper
