Copying Event FX to Multiple Events

Is there a way in Vegas to copy FX from one clip to another so that the same FX don't have to be set up on each different clip?

I've got Curves, Color Correction, HSL and Sharpen that I want to set up on multiple clips (events). The clips are separated by transitions or still photos. I've tried right click/copy/paste attributes but that doesn't do anything.

You can add FX to:

Track

or . .

Media in Project Media

or . . .

Copy > Paste Event Attributes

or

Add to a Nested VEg.

Yeah, OK, the paste attributes didn't work. I think I made that clear initially. If those are the only options then I guess I'm buggered.

Bob,

There are others including myself who have reported paste attributes not always working in 9.0.

On another note, I find it unfortunate that "paste attributes" does not give you pasting options like other editing programs (i.e. it will paste everything = pan/crop, velocity effects etc. which can be a pain at times).

Recently however I was alerted to different way of doing this by Grazie and it's become one of my favorite features in Vegas. It's accomplished by using "filter packages" and the "plug-in manager" window .

Here's a step by step:

1. Apply your effects to a video clip and make your effect adjustments.
2. Now click on the "plug in chain" button (located on the right top corner of the Video Event FX window.
3. Double click on the "Filter Packages" folder to open.
4. Click on "Save As" and give it a name.
5. You can now drag and drop that filter package using the "plug-in manager" window onto your clip(s) and it will include the effects including the tweaked settings.
6. Another great feature is that each time you drag a new filter package to your clip it will remove all of the previous effects automatically. This can really increase your creative options as you create your own looks.
