Try this,

Hold down the alt key and type 0169 on the numeric keypad.

Thanks so much... I was sure their was a way, I have used Alt-Ctrl-C before in other applications, but it did not work with Vegas.

Wher can I find a list of the codes used for the special symbols? The Unicode list does not seem to work.

If you find you need other characters (e.g., trademark, foreign characters, fractions, etc.) you can use the Character Map applet in Windows. You will find it by looking in Accessories, and then selecting System Tools. You can either copy from this applet and then paste into Vegas, or you can hover over a character and then note the Alt-Keystroke combination shown in the lower right corner of the applet. Then, as Sab noted, you simply hold the Ctrl key and then type the number using the numeric keypad. Be sure to include the leading zero that is contained in most of the codes.
