copyright symbols

feels like i've read this before but the solutions i've read don't seem to work. if i hold alt and type in 0169, or whatever it said to do, it just opened every menu. i'm making some montages and using a local band i know's music. they only ask that i give them proper credit. how do i place a copyright symbol in there? i can't seem to paste them from other programs, even from vegas itself. i bought the online product and don't have a booklet to read, nor does the search function in the program seem to have it

Hmmm....I just did the 0169 thing in a .wrd file and it worked so can you just copy/paste the © from a .wrd file....or from the one I just typed?

Sorry I'm little help but you got a bump.

Carry on....

Holding down the Alt key shouldn't open any menus if you're in text typing mode.

Have you tried typing a couple of letters first to ensure you're in typing mode and then using the Alt key combination?

Hold down Alt and then type 0169 is correct, but you must make sure that the 0169 is typed on the numeric keypad keys, NOT on the top row of the main keyboard.

This is especially important if using a laptop keyboard with the number keys embedded on top of the letters. Most of these keyboards require an Fn-modifier key combination first to switch to numeric mode. Without that you'd be typing Alt-letter instead of Alt-number.
