Correcting vertical refraction

Calling all color correction people! I think I overdid myself on trying to be real-world, and now I've got some vertical refraction going on that I can't figure out how to get rid of. I've only been using Vegas for a few months, and have been extremely impressed with the color correction abilities (and the tutorials available from lots of folks). What I did was shoot some movies with a digital camera, late afternoon sun, sun behind me, and did NOT use a ND or Polarizing filter. Here you can see what I'm struggling with.

There are two spots where it's bad, near the beginning, which I was able to fix a bit, and another about halfway through, where the scene is in the shade under a tree. I think I'm catching refraction off the metal roof and window glass in the background, and it's showing up as purple bars.

I've searched around, and can't seem to find what I should do to fix it in edit, so hoping someone can point me in the right direction. If so, please provide whatever guidance you can along "mechanical" lines, rather than "eyeball it" lines. My eyeballs aren't to be trusted, since I'm red-yellow-orange colorblind.

Thanks in advance!

Dianne
