I'm running Vegas 4d on Windows XP Pro and, on many of my projects, the media pool has corrupted. Symptoms:
- the .wav icon has disappeared in list view.
- the file names sometimes are garbled.
- the media pool doesn't appear to always update with changes in the project.
- hitting 'remove all unused media' can cause Vegas to crash and shutdown.
- sometimes on starting a new project, there are still some 'files' remaining in the media pool, but they're not actually there.
Don't know what caused this, but at the same time, I've also noticed some corruption on the timeline in that in some projects, the blue triangles at the end of events has disappeared. This doesn't seem to affect anything, but is a little strange.
I've tried repairing my installation, but this doesn't make a difference and I'm reluctant to reinstall from scratch as it would mean re-doing all my settings. In fact, as side note and feature request, it would be extremely useful to be able to save all settings in a file - inc. window placement and preferences - which could then be used on another installation of Vegas. The number of times I've had to redo all my settings is mad...
Any ideas on this would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Ben
