Counter in Project

Hi Chaps,
I read here a lot but have not posted as I get most of my anwsers while reading,I am posting now as the Project I am doing for myself is putting together a lot of Super 8 film clips of Motorcycle events and to gather more information on the Riders I thought I would insert a Counter on the Timeline so older club members that recognize riders can notify me of the counter reading. I have looked around the Forum but nothing jumped out to me , So my question is can somebody advise me how and if I can do it.

One of the FX in Vegas is "TimeCode." Select the track you want it to appear on, click the little rectangular icon with the funny top and bottom in the track header, select "TImeCode" in the FX list and you have it. You can disable it later after your friends have made their selections.
