I thought some of the folks here might enjoy this, imho the climax was a little over the top but the effects were epic. Here's a behind the scenes of some of the layering that was used in some of the scenes.

the computery junk is cool and all (I do computers for a living), but over use of computers these days in movies leaves me flat and bored. Yes, it looks completely real, but we know it isn't because there is no way, so we KNOW it is computers and no longer a big deal. Movie magic gone.

Models are more interesting because they feel more real and we don't know the "size" of them - full size, 1/32 or what?? How'd they do that?? Movie magic! Computers.... .... meh, just computers.

I'd read online the new Star Wars is going back to models... probably just a rumor, but I see no reason to NOT do modern models. We'll have to wait and see. The trailer tells me no models.
