CPU rendering default

What am I missing?

When I select a render template, it defaults to "Render using CPU only". GPU rendering is turned on in my Preferences.

How to I make the default "Render using CUDA if available"?

You need to change it in the render template and save it as a new template.

So in essence, I can't make that the default? I could have sworn that it used to default to what you had set in the preferences (GPU on or off).

No, it never did that. Since VP11 you have to make your own template that is set to use GPU.
