crackling noise

I rendered a a file it came out fine but there is this crackling noise that I can't figure out what is causing it.

The older SBLive had some latency issues with VIA chipsets, esp. 266-266a.
But I think you should be OK with the Audigy.
Is the soundcard sharing its IRQ? Sometimes getting it on its own interrupt (avoid IRQ9) can make a big difference.
