Well just bought vegas and it is crashing with a page fault
on termination. I have the same problem with Wavelab but
not with SoundForge, Cakewalk Pro Audio, CoolEditPro, or
other software. Steinberg told me "yeah this happens
sometimes, just minimize the app.." they didn't plan on
doing anything about it. Well Vegas is pretty sizeable and
don't want it lying about memory if I'm not using it.
Any body else reporting these problems? Something must be
related to the way music systems are closed down. I have
both a Layla and a MOTU 2408 in the box; they work fine
together. The box is an Acer Aspire (I know, not a very
good computer for this sort of thing.. but the video people
get all the good HW) it is a 333MHz with 192Mbytes of RAM,
and a dedicated 8Mb EIDE drive. I need to go SCSI but I
don't think this should be causing the crashes. Running Win
98 and the system is a Pentium II.
Thanks for any advice. The crash is a memory fault or
page fault, as if when closing the app somebody is trying
to free a "zero pointer" or something similar.
