Crashing on XP

I'm having trouble with Vegas 5.0a crashing maybe twice daily and randomly on my XP Pro. I looked in the knowledge base and only found 11 items which makes me think that Vegas is not crashing for others.

I'm suspecting it might be related to my fingerworks igesture pad which I use instead of a mouse and dial. It basically simulates arrow keys as I drag my finger across the surface. It works great for editing and as a mouse replacement.

Anyone using the IGesture pad and having problems with crashes? I don't want to think this is my problem....

Thanks, Jim

This is the website if anyone is interested:

For what it's worth, I know it's not XP Pro causing the problem. Been using it for years and not had a lick of trouble. Good luck!

Never heard of this gadget on this forum but you may have a sound card driver conflict. Perhaps. Look around for people having trouble with their Contour shuttles.

Thats a good idea. Thanks.

I've had the same MAudio drivers since the last version of Vegas and never experienced application errors before. All I get is a a message box saying "application error"

I'll try tweaking some options related to shuttles.
I suppose I should remove this igesture pad, I love using it though...

Jim,

I went to the wbsite as suggested and found that the igesture is a USB device. I seem to remember a year or so back there were a a few posts regarding compatibility problems with USB mouses (mice?).

Do a search on "USB mouse." Something may turn up.
