Crashing VV4c

Found an unfortunate incompatibility that I wanted to post in case it saves anyone a gray hair or three...

Doing a 5.1 proj, switched to the Direct Sound Mapper in audio devices to do a quick sync check - wanted the mixdown to listen with headphones & this did the trick. However, with the latest Audigy 2 drivers at least, if you try to scrub anything video with the audio device set this way, VV4c will crash mercilessly.

just ran into the same problem as you are having. i have an audigy sound card and scrubbing (keyboard or mouse) will cause vegas to crash hard. if i set it to microsoft sound mapper it doesn't crash.

On a similar theme... I was having huge instability problems with V4.0c - eventually tracked it down to the drivers for the M-Audio Delta 1010 I was using. They've recently updated the drivers and one of the fixes mentioned was concerned with ASIO with Acid; maybe there's a problem across the board with SoFo ASIO and the Delta 1010, but as soon as I updated the driver, the problems disappeared.
