Let me be more specific. Found scrolling titles as the preset effects. What I want to do is make a crawling title across the bottom of the screen which looks like the news ticker tapes. Any ideas?

Type in the text box what you want to crawl, then under placement drag all the way to the right off the placement screen then push the end button and drag all the way to the left. Should scroll left to right.

Thanks. But doesn't that limit me to just a small amount of text?

I think you can type over 2000 characters. If that's not enough, just keep making more text events and have each one followed by the next.

I'll give it a try. I've been using Studio 8. Is there a way to use the video overlay track to do this in Screenblaster?

Yes. Put the main video on the video track and the crawling text events in the overlay track.

I'm watching opening of the Olympics and while I can check a message or a forum, I can't play right now. But I'll look at the trial version. You'd think with all the news channels, even local TV, doing the ticker tape thing this effect would already have a template or something along those lines.

I'm sure that live broadcast systems have this function built in. Screenblast Movie Studio and it's big brother Vegas aren't designed for live broadcast. Tickertape style effects are probably used a lot less in editing situations than in live situations.

So its what I'm looking for what is referred to as an alpha channel transperancy? I should be looking at creating the ticker tape effect with a program what will produce the alpha channel transperancy overlay and then import it into the video overlay track?

By default, Text items placed on the video overlay track have transparent backgrounds. Just place the text item(2) on the overlay, usen the pan/crop positioning to move the text to appear at the bottom of the frame and the begin/end features on the same pan/crop screen to have the text move from right to left.
