Create an edge wipe effect?

I would like to create an edge wipe effect from left to right just like the linear wipe transition. For example: I have a video clip placed on video track1 and the other video clip on video track2. Now I see only video track2 on the view monitor. As I play, I want video track1 to appear from left to right as the time go on. I want to use keyframe to control the speed of the wipe effect. I can use a linear wipe transition, but I can't control the speed of the wipe effect.
Does anybody know how to do it? any plugin available for this? I can use Adobe After Effects and Avid XpressDV to do this. But those programs are very slow compares to Vegas Video.

Thanks,

But you can! The transition needs to work on two events overlapping on the same track. You just insert an empty event (Alt - i - e) and push/pull it to overlap your video event. Then drop the transition on it. The transition will last as long as the overlap.
