Thanks, Kinvermark. I've been reading about the Vegasaur toolkit, and it sounds like it would save me a lot of time.

After a multicam edit, it would be nice to be able to select all cuts and create a default cross fade. Is there a way to accomplish this another way?

Why can't you do it? Just select the events and drag the default cross fade or any other transition to a cut and VP will apply it to all selected events.

Oldsmoke, I can create a fade and change transition type on multiple takes, but not extend the upper track to create a crossfade on multitrack.

Can you post a screenshot of your timeline? I am not certain what you actually mean.

Cornico,

Thanks for the tutorial video. But this seems to only work with adjacent events. My events are on separate tracks and do not overlap (as is the case when expanding back from multicam mode). It's getting the overlap of events for the cross-fade that's the problem.

Here's an example section of my timeline:

As you can see, the events have no overlap. So when I drag and drop a transition, I just get the block symbol because there are no adjacent events. And I can't combine them to one track because I'm using track level color correction. Although, I guess I could copy color correction to an event, and copy that event's attributes to all events on the track. But I don't know how to combine the tracks.

Than the question is, why are you expanding the multicam track? I have never felt the need for it. And if you have to, apply the transition before you expand the track.

OldSmoke,

i need to apply coloration by camera, since they are not all the same model.

I'll try adding cross fade before expanding, but I thought it would get lost.

But I realize I can apply coloration at the event level, and then drag-and-drop events to the same track. I'm not at the computer now, but I think I have a solution.

Thanks for all your suggestions!

I feel you should consider changing your workflow. Color matching the cameras for a multicam project should be done on the MediaFX level, usually the first step in the work flow. Later, you can always fine tune the colors on the event level and that can be done in the multicam track too. Even applying MediaFX can be done on the multicam track but I prefer to do it as a first step in my workflow.

Note that MediaFXs are NOT lost when creating the multicam track, EventFX are.

Fantastic! I didn't know about media FX!

I also create a "video wall" similar to what the multicam would show in the preview window. I use it to match the cameras before I make my multicam track. Note that during multicam editing, the preview window doesn't not show any FX at all! Probably to help with playback speed. Also naming your tracks before you create the mulitcam track remains intact and the track name will show up as camera name in the preview window.
