Create slow motion from GoPro 1080P 240fps videos

Using Vegas Pro 16 updated to version 352, in a Windows 10 Home 1803 updated PC

Footage taken with a GoPro Hero 7 Black at 1080p 240fps using the newest HEVC H265 codec

Vegas Pro 16 can handle this video seamless, and only needed an automatic activation

My goal is to get slow motion by converting this video from 240fps to 30fps (8X, equivalente to a 0.125 convertion rate)

To do so, I am using the speed adjustment. However, I see that the maximum reduction that this version of Vegas Pro allows me to use is 0.250 (equivalent to a 4X)

Is there anyway to get this?

Notice that I don't want to covert this video to a different frame ratio, but to get a efective reduction in speed motion

Setup a videoproject with 1080p30 settings and import your 1080p240 footage at project framerate. (rightclick 1080p240 footage in project media tab and choose "Add at Project Frame Rate").

That is a nice solution, thank you. It works beautifully

This means that Vegas Pro can use a 0,125 ratio of speed change, but it doesn't allow to set it in the menu

No, you just tell Vegas to play 240 fps with 30 fps. That's something else than slowing down by resampling.

Is there a reason when you do this that the audio drifts out of sync? I am only using preview and not a render but the audio drifts way off. I don;t understand why that would be. Seems like it should all slow down in sync.
