Creating a slide show

I am new to this product and so far love it. I created my slideshow of my husband's track team and their track meets, but when I burn it to VCD and play it on my TV's DVD player (which plays VCD's) the images are distorted. I took the pictures with my 4 mega pixel camera (Sony product as well) and they were taken on the highest resolution, so why aren't the pictures displayed just as clear on the TV? Is there anyway to get it larger?

Regardless of what resolution you shoot the pictures at, they're going to display at 650 x 480 -- which is probably the lowest resolution setting your camera can take -- so that's not the issue. That's the resolution of standard television, and nothing short of buying a HDTV can change that.

What's probably the greater issue is that you save to VCD format, which uses mpeg1 and is not even up to the quality of VHS tape.

If you can, I'd recommend saving back to your camcorder (especially if it's digital video) and then copying that to a VHS tape. (I'm assuming you don't have a DVD burner, which uses mpeg2 and is of much higher quality picture.)

Nope, no DVD recorder. I am going to purchase on in the future, but don't have one immediately. I will be sure to try saving it back to my camcorder and see if that helps. I appreciate your time!

Does your DVD player play SVCD? SVCD is mpeg2 which is better than VCD but not quite as good as DVD.

I can burn a SVCD to CD and play it in my DVD and the quality is pretty good on my Sony TV.

Somewhere, there is a song in here with all of the SVCD, VCD, DVD, Sony TV.... ;-)
