Creating Credits; Import from Word? Adobe?

I am creating a credit roll, but I am not sure the best way to actually type and create these credits. The Generated Text Media Editor is a PIA, and I am looking for a way to create lengthy statements without having to deal with that.

Any ideas?

I have heard some people mention creating a tall picture in Photoshop, but that seems kind of strange to me, though it does kind of make sense in the fact of being able to see the full roll.

Is that the best way, or is there a better way?

Thank you.

Did you know you can paste text from the windows clipboard into the credit roll? The properties (font, bold, italics etc) don't copy in, but the text data does, and that can be a big timesaver.

Hello, I am a new user of Vegas and found a workaround to this problem:
I simply use the video media generator TEXT and either copy from Word into the text box or type into it directly all the text that is needed. I decide upon the length needed to scroll the text and enter this value in the box provided. I leave the frame size in default values, if your text shows chopped you will need to adjust line lengths or change frame size to 2040x2040. Before you go to the next step, be sure that your cursor is at the beginning of your text in the text box.

The next step then is to work with the Placement screen. This screen has values for X and Y. Move your text in the placement window so that the start shows below the bottom of the safety zone frame. The x and y values will change as you move the text. When you are satisfied with your positioning, incert a key frame at 00:00:00.
Now move the text up so that the text's end is above the top of the placement frame and create a key frame at the end of the time bar.

That should do it.

Hope this helps. Robert
