creating DVD disc with media

Does anyone have the EXACT DETAILS and/or steps in creating a DVD disc accompanied with media, i.e. data files...and be able to play DVD in a table top system without fault, etc.?

I am using Nero express / Nero rom 6.0

P.S., I compile my VOB file(s) and have a separate file with assorted media.

Using smartstart I select "burn DVD video files" - I drag my VIDEO_TS folder into the nero project. Then I just drag the additional files/folder I need into the project root. Nero does the rest.

Two things to add to Scott's post:

1. Make sure that you DO NOT put any additional files in either the VIDEO_TS or AUDIO_TS folders.

2. While not necessary, I generally try to use "DOS-legal" names for the folders off the root (i.e., eight characters or less, and plain ASCII characters). Probably not necessary.

If you are going to put long file names (as I'm sure you are) onto the disc, make sure that Nero is configured to allow long file names. The default DVD template in 6.x is set up this way. I have never had problems with long file names for files or folders; it is just the folders off the root directory that concern me, and I don't have any hard evidence that this is actually a problem.
