Creating elementary NTSC streams

Hey Guys,

I use DVD-LAB to assemble my footage together. Those of you who know DVD LAB probably know it's fussy about elementary streams, and if fed a DVD NTSC stream it likes to DEMUX it first. This process is fine for 2-3 minute clips, but when you're talking a 60m clip, it can really pile on the time for the workflow. So let us return to Vegas and create elementary streams. Great! I hear you cry - PAL? No Problem! But what about NTSC? No can do- apparently.

The question:

What options do I have for getting Vegas to output a pair of streams - NTSC video and suitable compatible audio at the same time?

Surely it seems odd that the option exists for pal but not Never The Same Colour?

Your wisdom appearing below, appreciated it is.

When you click on Custom, the last tab has an "elementary streams" checkbox. It appears in my NTSC options.

No problem.... just go to "Render As" select "MPEG-2" as the file type , go to Custom, select the "DVD NTSC" template, Go to the "System" tab and check "Save as separate elementary streams." Then go to the "Audio" tab and UN-check "Include Audio Stream." Set your desired video bitrate and render it up. After that's done, go back and render your audio separately as an .AC3 or .WAV file depending on what you want. Anyway, the resulting .M2V file, along with either the .AC3 or .WAV, will import into DVD-Lab just fine.
