Creating Proxies? Hit and Miss?

I've received some UHD GoPro 59.97 and it doesn't Preview well at all. I've read I can create Proxies by right-clicking on the Media in the Project Media. I did this once, and it still was less than useful in Preview. So, I repeated the process and now that previously Proxied file now won't allow me to repeat it, it is greyed out.

Any thoughts?

You can only proxy something once. Delete the proxy file next to the media in Windows Explorer if you really want to redo it.

It should work at preview/auto or preview/full resolutions without issue assuming the timeline isn't otherwise struggling at 4K60 (Fx can really slow things down, too).
