Creating Template for 1080 29.97

Hi, new to PA, and working primarily in Panasonic AVCHD (hmc150), and Canon MOV converted to AVI. Want to create a template, since none is shipped in 1080x29.97. I assume I create a project in Vegas, set all properties correctly for the above inputs. Put in a title in front of a slug for media etc. Add a closing credits (do the blank slugs all need to be the proper length or will they expand to fit the media? I also assume I don't check the box (adjust source media to fit the project)?

If this is all correct, I try and go to save this VEG and there is no Templates folder under the location that the documentation says it should be. I have no templates folder under the
C:\Program Files (x86)\Sony\Production Assistant 1.0
I have CONFIGS ICONS and PRESETS folders. Should I just make a template folder? Where are the 3 templates I have being pulled from?

Also, I'm running Windows 7 64bit. Is PA a 32 bit app? There's nothing in the normal C:Programs Files for it so I assume that's true.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, that's all correct.

For PA 1.0 (which you have) the slugs need to be the proper length. For the newly announced PA 2.0 you can control if they stay put, expand, contract, or both. There is even a "repeating" slug that consumes all remaining media. Also version 2 has a template editor that makes it a lot easier to create templates.

On Page 9 of the Production Assistant User's Guide it states:

The default template folder is: \My Documents\Sony\Production Assistant 1.0\Project Templates

So look under "My Documents" on XP or "Documents" in Windows 7/Vista.

Yes, the launcher is a 32-bit application but the plug-in works in both the 32-bit and 64-bit version of Vegas Pro.

Excellent! Thanks. I must not have been reading carefully, because I didn't see the My Documents piece. They are there. I'll probably upgrade to 2.0 relatively soon.
