Creating Transitions in DVD A2

I think I've figured out how to make transitions in DVD A2... I set a button to the transition video, and set the end event of the transition video to go to the new menu. Easy enough.

Now, I want to actually CREATE that transition. For that, I need at least a still image of the original menu, with all the DVD A2 rendered text, thumnails, masks, etc, and one of the destination menu. Then I should be able to use Vegas to create a small video cip with whatever sort of transition I want, right?

Now, how do I get screen captures of those menus with everything on them? The source images/videos for the menu background of course don't have the menu itself. How do I capture those menus fully rendered? Any way to do it in Vegas/DVD A2, or do I need some third party software? If the latter, are there any freeware tools that can do it?

Hit the Preview button. Change the preview quality (top-right of the preview screen) to Best. Click the Copy-to-Clipboard button (it's next to the preview quality setting) or hit Ctrl-C. Paste this into an imaging program and save that to a file. That's your still image.

Oh, of course the preview window is going to show one of your buttons highighted. If you don't want this, you should temporarily change the highlighting color to be transparent.
