Credit Roll Insert

This ought to be easy, but I'm really struggling (or maybe brain-dead).

I have a long credit roll and have discovered that I forgot a line in the middle of the event. I can't figure out how to insert a new item in the middle of an existing event. I've tried to use the "insert text" at the end of the event and move it to the desired place, but that doesn't seem to work.

Can anyone help? I'd rather not start from scratch.

Jerry, I could be wrong, but the last time this happened to me, I had to start scratching--back to square one, or at least to the point of where the mistake was. I've not done any more rolls since then. I don't think you have any other choice. Hopefully, I'll be proven wrong.

Highlight line, press insert key or

copy/ctrl + c, then paste/ctrl + v and a new blank line will insert.

And who said Vegas wasn't intuitive.

Your next question will probably be the usual one about how to slow it down. Here is my method:
1. Place credit roll at end of video

2. Type in all the information

3. Edit generated media: Change the time length to the desired amount (may involve trial and error)

4. Go back to timeline and place the cursor back from the end of the timeline a distance equal to the desired length of the credit roll. I did it by typing in the cursor position (in the little box under the timeline toward the right) so it was exact.

5. MOVE the Credit Roll Left to the cursor position WITHOUT resizing it.

6. Send the cursor to the end of the video by clicking Go To END (CTRL+END).

7. Stretch the end of the credit roll to the Right up to the cursor WITHOUT holding down the CTRL key.

8. If the speed is too fast go back and do it all over again from step 3 above.

Credit Rolls are one of the many problems with Vegas that have been ignored in new versions (2,3,4,5) and will no doubt be ignored in version 6 as well.................but Vegas six will do 24p. Wow!

John, thanks for proving me wrong. That's good to know!

================
It doesn't delete it.

Type in something and hit enter. Continue until you have a few entries. Go back to where you want to add in a new line. Highlight it and press the insert key. The entry moves down one line and a new blank line is formed in it's place.
