there must be something simple I am dong wrong in the credit roll...I've got my text in multiple lines, but the event only scrolls through the first line of text in the timeframe. I tried adding a keyframe corresponding to the last line of text, but that didn't do it. Fooled w a few keyframes & that didn't do it either...can anyone give me a quick tip on this? There must be something simple I am missing..TIA

I just went to "media generators" and selected "credit roll" and chose "plain scrolling on black" typed in a few lines of text and it scrolled perfectly.

No keyframes or anything else.

Then I chose "scrolling on transparent" same procedure - same result.

Probably one of the biggest problems that happens when learning to use the credit roll is timing the duration of the roll. Near the top center of the credit roll window is a blank for length of the event. This defaults to 10 seconds, which is rather short. You need to change this value to however long you want the credits to last. Then, after changing that, you need to drag the credit roll event out on the timeline to match that length.

I have a full explanation on how to use the credit roll in a recent issue of my newsletter

Chienworks ... great - this did the trick...I didn't see that although I had entered the duration in the plugin, that the event was not that duration on the timeline. So I suppose the plugin window sets the velocity of the roll (length of text vs. timing) and the clip on the timeline lets you view part or all of that event..thanks very much !!!!!

If you don't like having to set the length in both places manually, you can select an empty region on the timeline the length you want in advance, then drop the credit roll event in that region. It will automatically become the length of the selection. Of course, this only helps you before you create a credit roll, not after.

If you need to change the length of an existing credit roll and don't want to bother changing it both in the credit roll window and on the timeline, you can Ctrl-drag the end of it left to speed it up or right to slow it down.
