Re the first issue, there are two things that can be done:
1. Click the View menu and then click Windows Layouts and then click Default Layout; or
2. Click the View menu and then click Window and then check the Video FX item. The Video FX window will then appear and, using the Ctrl key, can be positioned in the window array to where it previously was.
