Cross-fade problem

I had posted this before, but had no luck finding a solution. I have also tries contacting SONY and they have been unable to solve the problem either. - When I make a movie a lot of times the individual scenes of the movie will quickly cross-fade into eachother rather than being a clean cut from scene to scene.
I make sure to put them neatly against eachother and not overlap them, which I know would cause a cross-fade.(also I get the blue highlight showing that they are end-to-end) I'm working with video from a hard-drive camcorder so I don't know if it's an issue with the file type, but it's really annoying and I'd like to know what causes it and how to fix it.
Thanks for any help.

Do you see this when previewing from the timeline, or only when viewing the finished product? (DVD I assume) And what version of the program are you running?

Snapping needs to be enabled.
Quantize to Frames needs to be enabled.
Your Project frame rate must match your source frame rate.

Hope this helps.

I'm using Vegas movie studio platinum 9.0

I don't see the problem in the preview box, only after it's been rendered.
I'll check about snapping, Quantize to frames, and frame rate.
Thanks for the replies- I'll let you know if they help.
