Cross hairs in Vegas

Beachnut wrote on 5/8/2005, 6:33 AM
I'm splitting my video and when I click the Video FX icon the cross hairs (that F inside a rectange and circle) doesn't always show up, especially with keyframe editing. Can someone tell me how I get it to appear (or why it isn't/shouldn't appear) ?
I'm using Vegas for first time (and the 300+ page manual) so sorry for the simple question.
Thanks.

Are you refering to the F when you select "pan/crop" ?(in each event)
it does not appear when using "track motion"(in the track header)
perhaps you got the two confused?

I think you're talking about the Pan crop tool - the icon just above the video fx icon on an event (if it's vertical height allows) - you can use this to flip, rotate, resize, move around the frame etc., and other things, including matching aspect ratios and creating Bezier masks.

Ooops ! Yes - it's the Event/Pan Crop icon.
When I press it the new window which opens only shows the video Frame on a white background. I'm expecting to see the 'F' image so I can enlarge/reduce or rotate, but it's not there...

...just solved the problem ! I didn't realise I had to click the 'position' line to make it appear.
