I read that it is good to crush your blacks as part of preparing your video for the web. Presumably to lower file size since. Does anyone know specific guidelines for doing this with Vegas, ie what FX filters and settings to consider?
I just did a test using a 4 second clip rendered to 512k template wmv9. One clip I lowered saturation and gamma by 25% the other raised by 25% using the color corrector as a video output FX. The file size stayed the same, and yes, clip 1 was darker. So that doesn't seem to be of any help. I have heard of some web improvements using the color correctors RGB presets, I will that next.
