cumulative edit bog

can nothing be done by sf to take some of the strain out when youve got a lot of splits in a file? Once the media pool builds, whether or not you are even using them, vegas gets sticky and boggy

right now Im on a demo band, that has a split at nearly every beat, and even copying and pasting one section once takes a LONG time. I cant just go moving the events to other tracks. Is this a RAm thing or what ?

Once I got a billion edits in vegas I cant group events any more, it starts sticking then sayin " not responding"

is this a RAM thing? how many megs of ram do I need to safely edit a crappy band?

I have had that problem before and found a(n imperfect) solution to it.
I render the heavily split track. Has bailed me out many times when editing kick drums
and bass.

Yes, I do the same. Once I'm fairly satisfied with the heavily edited track I render it. Obviously I can continue to edit and tweak the new track as required. Just seems to make things things a bit more manageable. ;-)

this is what I do as well, but what decides how many you can do before it gets ugly?
I mean if I can go farther with more something Ill buy it. If I render the tracks while tracking then I wont have had enough time to edit it right, and Ill pay for it later
