Press CTRL-D - you changed the mode by pressing "D". There's four options.

I have a vertical white line on my screen and the video will not play. This is my playback screen in the editing software. The line is on the left side of the screen. I have tried S HFT TRL and double click on Vegas icon and it still is the same.

I am still having the vertical white line problem, I did put in a look, accidentally, but cannot get it back out by any means that I know.

I have turned off the loop and it now plays but nothing is displayed on the screen and the controls under the screen do not work so I cannot pause the playing. I tuned the look back on and it no longer plays.

unfortunately every time i did a screen shot the white line disappeared, but you can see the small triangle at the top of the viewing screen and that is where the line is.

You have the trimmer open. That line is for the hover scrub used for trimming in the trimmer.

You probably should select the preview window instead for your workflow.

ok, but I do not know how I opened the trimmer window and I do not know how to open the preview window, can you give me some guidance?

ok again, I did go to view/window/preview window and unchecked it and everything works, thanks
