Cursor and End of Timeline Problem

I'm still using Vegas 6.0. Recently I started noticing a problem that I don't recall seeing before. I have completed editing a 1 hour 15 minute program. At the end of the program timeline, the playback head travels for about 10 or 15 seconds and then strangly JUMPS BACK and stops somewhere on a frame of the last thing that is on the timeline. Strange! When I go to render the program, DVDA renders it this way. I WANT black but instead, I get a frozen frame of of a piece of the timeline. The playback head doesn't go very far back but just enough to give me this unwanted frozen frame. I've tried inserting an empty video event to solve the problem and it still doesn't work right. ANYONE HAVE A SOLUTION TO THIS ISSUE? Please help. Thanks.

If you want black at the end of a program, you need to make a black clip. If you don't, then the last frame becomes the end of the program and a DVD will freeze on this frame. You don't notice it when it freezes on black, but you do when it is video.

Just add 5 or 10 seconds of black at the end.
