Cursor lockup

Thank you all, my friends, for trying to help me.I tried Crtl ,Alt and Del which didn't do anything.

Thank you all for trying to help me to get back to the editing again. I have spent a number of hours within the program to find out what the problem is, till I decided to ask the forum. I was quite amazed about the number of suggestions, the promptness and that others have similar lockups.
I have tried CTRL, ALT. DEL which did not do anything. A forced boot down and restart worked for the first click on the transport arrow and stopped again on the second.
I haven't got a sound card. I'm using an external creative editing sound box, probably 8 to 10 years old, but working beautifully.
If something else should come to mind, I would gladly hear about it.
Unfortunately I'm moving and my Vegas Pro12 program is packed, otherwise I would have re-installed it.

Can you determine that you are using ASIO drivers? I can get Cursor delays/stopping with my External PreSonus AUdio box that also employs ASIO drivers.

My solutions have been:

A] UNPLUG the USB of the Box and then REPLUG. This resets the USB drivers and gets me going again in VP

. . . or . . .

B] In Preferences under Audio Device to swap in and out the drivers options and Apply and thence back to Presonus AudioBox.

Do try these "remedies", may well get you going.

My present issue with this are as a result of installing the latest Magic Bullet Looks 3 onto my system. I tried the option to view output to my External Monitor from within MBL, I only get a greyed out option. After emailing Red Giant I was told I need a Black Magic or AJA Card to do so. I'm now thinking that there are also issue for me when I attempt to apply the External monitor - in my case it being an ASIO driven Audio card but I'm now thinking that the approved cards may "setup" has also conspired against me too! - Some kind of Video<>Audio card convergence which in turn is reflected in that STUCK Cursor.

I wish I knew more about IT to give a more intelligent response, than my evidenced-based experiential experience.

As a postscript to my previous post: I took my own advice from A] and it has presently "cured" the issue:

1] I can access MBL3 and edit away while VP is playing a LOOP selection

2] The T/L Cursor is behaving itself.

3] No hangs or whiteouts - so far!

@PD: Don't sell yourself shortTerminology I'm not aware of? (wink)

But, getting back to our chum's issue/s, if I have provided a solution, this has been one of the-all time switcheroo obfuscations that Vegas and ASIO present to the unaware - a complete head-banging outcome.

There is also the master reset AKA power on-off switch.
