Custom default track FX

1 - I would like to customise the default Track FX, to use WaveHammer instead of Track Compressor. Any ideas how - I'm lazy, and get tired of doing it manually all the time.

And semi-related:

2 - Is a plugin with default (nonactive) settings equivalent in CPU terms to not having it running, the same as having active settings in it, or somewhere in between ?

And:

3 - If the 'active' tick-box is cleared, is the CPU load equivalent to removing the plug, the same as with it active, or again somewhere in between.

4 - What I;m trying to ask is, I guess, if I have 20 default WaveHammers sitting there, most inactive, is this going to significantly affect my CPU-strain more than the equivalent instances of Track Compressor.

5 - And if so, how about default 'blank' track FX chains ?

For #s 1 and 5, set up your track with the effects chain you want to use as the default, then right-mouse-button click on the track header and choose "Set Track Defaults". This will save your current effects chain as the default chain for all new tracks.

Ahhh, the famous 'right-click' again. Does it mention that anywhere in the manual/help - if so I missed it ....

Thanks
