Custom menus from photoshop .psd files

Just wondering if anyone has tried this out yet in 3.0. I've been playing with the trial and the only way I can seem to make this work is to create a menu in DVDA from some template, then individually replace the background, mask, frame, thumbnail, etc file references individually. After that, I need to specify the layer of interest for each of these. It works, but its a bit cumbersome.

I was hoping for something like a "create menu from .psd" function. Or better yet, an "edit menu in graphics app" function where you could take an existing theme and easily modify it in photoshop. I guess I'm a bit spoiled by Encore's Photoshop integration (although I will say Encore isn't perfect by any means). In any case, just curious if I'm attempting this correctly. The manual talks about how to create the .psd file, but not how to bring it into DVDA.

I also noticed that even though you can create layer groups/sets in Photoshop, this doesn't get composited when brought into DVDA. For example, if I create a background set containing a background photo, a title, and a graphic overlay, it seems I need to flatten these 3 items into a single background layer for use in DVDA. Is this correct, or am I missing something?

Thanks,
Steve

Thanks! Now why didn't I see that option before?

Encore DVD has the advantage that it will import/export directly to and from PremierePro & After Effects.

Take a comp from Encore to After Effects and back ... and watch your menu become Bad @$$!

Wish there was some type of similar integration with Vegas & DVDA.
