Custom Render Templates in V9

I am a Vegas user since Version 3. The new Rendering Templates in Vegas 9a are a mess. I had to go back not only to 9.0, I had to go back to Version 8.
1) It is sad, the upgrade does not pick up all my custom templates of Vegas 6 or at least 8. Why the equal (=) sign in front of the default choice NTSC at TYPE AVI? If you click on CUSTOM it's gone!!!
2) In Windows Media TYPE WMV if you create a Custom Template with Audio 9.2, CBR and choose Attributes 32 kbps, 44 kHz, stereo (A/V) CBR it will then be translated/displayed as Format: "Audio: "1,411 Kbps"!!!, 44,100 Hz, 16 Bit, Stereo, WMA etc. Choose 24 fps, 480x360 Progressive and a Custom Bit rate of 300 K which will be displayed as (Format) 512 K!!!
3) If you fill in (checkmark) the Index file by entering Title, Author, Engineer, Copyright, Description on the Index/Summary tab it will not be saved as part of the template!!!

I installed/sold Vegas 8 to many churches and ministries. Not only because of the Rendering Templates problem, speed and other bugs, we contacted our clients with the recommendation not to update to Version 9 or Version 9a.

Has there been a fix posted for this yet? If not, I am going to fill out a trouble ticket on it as I was attempting to save a custom template and everything reverts back to the template I started with.

If you change the default bitrate on the video tab and then click on the audio tab and then click back you lose what you changed- even if you save it before moving to the next tab. I checked this with mp4, wmv and mainconcept mpeg2 with the same results. However, my custom templates I made in previous versions all work fine in Vegas 9.0b- just not any I make in 9.0.
