Cut and Paste

When I click the paste command to add from one time line to another the result is hour glassing and/or white screening on the destination time line.
Now that the arrow cursor's back, any command meets with hour glassing or no response.
Any thoughts?
Just clicked to pull the contents of the origin time line to the destination as a nested project and the hour glassing started again.

Are they both the same version of Vegas including ver. number and either 32bit or 64bit?

Both 32 bit.

You could be running low on memory because the copy/paste is all performed in memory. When you have no physical RAM to make the copy, it goes to the page file on your hard disk. To verify this run the Task Manager, Click on the Resource Monitor, Click on the Memory tab. If the "Used Physical Memory" is hitting 100%, then there's your answer.

While there, sort on the "Private" column to see what processes are eating your RAM.

In this project I have added some .avi clips to a timeline that is moslty MXF. Should this be problematic? Seems to me I have done this successfully before.

I had this “paste lag” when the Sony Vegas Production Assistant 2 was installed on my PC.
