Cut/Paste

OK, I'm not an idiot but I can't figure out how the hell to cut and paste from one timeline into another in VMS Platinum 9.

I've got a project that I'm trying to re-render in order to run through a deflicker filter in VirtualDub. I've rendered the project in the past as WMV and MP4 without problem. Now, I can't render it in any format using any codec. VMS just crashes without warning or producing an error message. Searched the forums and saw the 'copy/paste' suggestion so that's what I'd like to try.

I open my existing project, select the entire clip in the timeline and do CTRL+C. Then I create a new project, name it and when the project opens, I can't paste the clip into the new project. The Paste option is greyed out in the flyout menu.

For some bizarre, unknown, and unfathomable reason, Vegas clears the copy buffer when you close a project. The way to paste between projects is to have both open at the same time. Launch Vegas twice and open one project in each window. Then you can copy & paste between them.

Oh bloody hell. Thanks. Much appreciated.

Still doesn't solve the crashing problem, unfortunately.

How about opening the existing project and doing a "Save As"?
