Cut single frames from clip

Adobe Premier 6.5 has a neat "Razor" tool for setting precise points to "cut" frames from a clip in the timeline. Does Vegas 4.0 have a similar tool or procedure to perform the same function? If not, how do you select a small section of video clip to "cut" (with & without audio)

Would surely appreciate any help with this

You set the "In" and "Out" points by using the I and O keys on the keyboard. Then click and drag to timeline with audio, or hit the "Tab" key for picture only.

You can move the cursor frame by frame with the left & right arrow keys if you are zoomed in far enough. If you're not zoomed in far enough then Alt-arrows will move frame by frame. When you position the cursor exactly where you want it you have several options. The S key will split the clip at that point, which is probably what the Razor tool did. You can then double-click on the part you want to get rid of and press the Delete key to erase it. If you have Ripple Edits enabled then everything to the right of the deleted section will automatically snap back to fill in the empty space. Simpler yet is to drag the end of the clip to the cursor position to trim it.

Thanks a bunch for the super quick and extremely helpful response.

The Vegas 4.0 program is great but lacks considerably in the "Help" dept., especially for a newcomer to video & DVD stuff.

(I ordered the book by the "Spotted Eagle Guy" but haven't received it yet)

Thanks again
