cuts off side of text on 9:16 video?

Hi, does anybody know why NewBlue Titler Pro 7 does this to the text?

I think I've played with every setting I can in NewBlue, I've swapped NB with Pan/Crop & I could've sworn it displayed correctly once while I was tinkering but I can't recreate that. Or maybe it just doesn't work on 9:16?

Generated media - NewBlue Titler Pro 7 does the same thing.

In TP7's 'Title' menu, have 'Title Settings' for the video output been custom set for the 9:16 AR?

Note: drat - it looks like that custom setting is only available in the SAL; otherwise, TP7 takes on the project size and fps rate as set in Vegas Pro.

@Dexcon Hi, as you say nope I don't have that option, there's Title information that says it's set to 1080x1920 & shows correctly in NB but somehow it's not recognised correctly in Vegas or transferred back correctly 🤷‍♂️

I do have the standalone that shows as NewBlue Titler Pro 7 Express for Avid, that has that setting & imports/exports the video + title or just the title. Thanks.

@Gid I'd need to see the VEG file. As it's used as an effect, I would think it should show the full size of the video.

PS. that has the Variable clip in that project, but I also tried it with a Constant version, same result.

I opened the project and it says "Enter Text" full width for me on the VEGAS preview screen. I then changed it to "Blue Beetle" and that's also showing full width.

I'm on version 241118 of Titler Pro 7 from TotalFX360.

You might check with NewBlue support and see if someone else has better information than me. You might be able to find a newer build to try there as well.

@Gid, I have TotalFX360, which I upgraded from TFX7 and the version number is 250207, which is more current than your version. The text appears correctly for me.

I contacted NB, not the reply I hoped for but got the reply I think I was expecting.

The version of TotalFX7 that you have is the latest version that was released.
TotalFX7 has been deprecated and replaced with TotalFX 360.
TotalFX7 is no longer being developed or receiving fixes.
I do see that you are getting 50% off of TotalFX 360 if that is an option for you.

@jetdv @Reyfox Thanks for testing, at least I know the newer version works but I can't afford to upgrade at the mo, I've got Boris TS, Titles & Text, ProType etc.. & as I don't work on 9:16 very often I'll find workarounds or other options when it comes to it 👍

This is with that Fit text to box option. 🤦‍♂️😂🤷‍♂️

I think I'll either use the standalone..

or maybe work on a 16:9 project & somehow render that text only, reimport then crop & render again at 9:16 prores with alpha. but even adding that 9:16 to 16:9 project gives this (Match output in Pan/Crop has to be selected otherwise NB stretches the image) 🤷‍♂️😂🤦‍♂️

& I rendered out the 9:16 as a standard 16:9 mp4 file. it's still wrong, NB cache deleted multiple times. 🤷‍♂️😂🤦‍♂️

PS it does work on a normal 16:9, (why it wouldn't work on the bug 16:9 clip with black bars I dunno, I'll try it with a coloured background instead of black bars.)

On the clip I thought it was working I tried the Object Following, in NB ok, in VP it's way off... f*it.

@Gid sorry things aren't going as smoothly as it should. I do understand the frustration though. Been there a few times myself, to the point of "giving up".

Oh, and thanks for the video, it provided me with some laughs... white box followed by blue text.
