Damaged audio by Vegas from H4n

H4n issue. Wondering if anybody has an answer to an audio problem with a Zoom H4n. Importing wav files from my Zoom H4n causes extreme noise spikes in the audio when imported into Vegas 11 or Vegas 10. However, when I open up the wav file in windows media player, no noise is present. When I play the audio back on the Zoom H4n, no noise. Its only when I import the wav file into Vegas. What is happening.

Upload a short sample of the original WAV somewhere.
Lots of people here use the H4n, and I've never read of this issue before.

I have the same problem in Vegas Pro Edit 14. My H4N files are garbled noisy crap. Similar issues with WAV files from artist I collaborate with.

Are your audio files by any chance on an external USB drive? I seem to remember this happening with Vegas when the audio file was on a USB external drive, copying the same file over to c: drive fixed it
