Damn GAS attack !

After maybe a few too many wines I decided that my 'old' Nikon D300S was just a little too lo-fi in the video department (no complaints about the photo quality , but I'm prepared to be pleasantly surprised !).

So I snipped a used D800 off eBay. Couldn't justify more than double the price for a D810 - not that tiddly ;-) . Effectively the purchase price will be halved when I sell the D300S (that's how I justify the exercise to myself).

Hope it works.....

Looking forward to sucking some 1080 ingto Vegas from it when it arrives.

PS - Yes , I do have a bunch of AF non-DX lenses from my F4 era.

That cam shoots in H.264/MOV, so it should interface just as any AVCHD footage.

I would be careful buying a camera that shoots QuickTime format if you are editing in Vegas Pro. Vegas' QuickTime support is limited to 2GB of memory because it's only 32-bit. Some have reported not being able to get more than 100 or so QuickTimes on the timeline at once before Vegas blows up. Just something to consider when buying a camera.
