Day for night shooting

I'm looking for a good tutorial or article on shooting Day for Night video. Honest, I searched at Cow and using Google and, much to my amazement, couldn't find any tutorials or articles.

I 'think' I know the basics and have done some tests that are pretty good. For an interior I'm think of using a very dispersed/soft/bounce light source, probably using an unbrella. I've used the color curves to get the color to what we accept as 'night' (the preset was OK but I twaeked that one a bit too) and done a few tweaks with desaturating.

Still when I find a tutorial there is always something that makes a big difference. Maybe in positioning the lighting relative to the camera, filtering (in post-production) etc.

Any tutorials out there, or just someone who has had success when working on a tight time and $$$ budget?

www.dv.com has an article on night shooting. It's called "Lighting the Darkness." Explains about how to properly light and shoot at night/night scenes.

Thanks, I'm no longer in the dark. . .hmmm, except that's where I thought needed to be. . .

That is an excellent article. I'd recommend it to anyone, seasoned or otherwise, relative to night shooting. Well written and informative. Thanks for the pointer!
